Traditional Foods Preservation Program
The Traditional Foods Preservation Program was designed to teach our families how to properly process and preserve traditional foods. We teach our participants how to skin, gut, butcher, and preserve deer, elk, buffalo, salmon, berries and roots. Our mentors are all traditional hunters, fishermen/women, food gatherers and berry pickers. They are also certified Master Food Preservers by the Washington State University Extension Office. Our goal is to teach the old ways, use new knowledge to stay safe, and to help our families fill up their pantries with nourishing, traditional foods and medicines.
